China Unicom to Launch Large-scale Purchase of Dual-mode CDMA/GSM Smartphones

Unicom Vsens, a subsidiary of China Unicom, recently revealed that it has signed a one-year purchase agreement with Shenzhen Yulong. As per the agreement, China Unicom will purchase Yulong's Coolpad 7360 dual-mode CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access)/GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) Smartphones on a large-scale basis, Xinhua News Agency reported.

With a contract valued at 645 million RMB (US$90.9 million; US$1=7.1 RMB), China Unicom will purchase up to 150,000 units of Coolpad 7360 from Shenzhen Yulong, according to the same report. Shenzhen Yulong, a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Wireless Technologies, specializes in developing integrated solutions for Smartphones.
